What is sourced: Revolut does not publish its interview format, so every specific about their process on this page is what candidates and prep guides described publicly — each one carries its source and the date it showed. Formats change; treat them as reported, not official. What is ours: the practice questions are SQL Quest challenges, picked because their SQL matches the patterns those sources report. They are not questions Revolut has asked.

The Two SQL Rounds

What the Revolut data analyst SQL rounds ask

As described publicly in September 2026 — one prep guide synthesised from 27 candidate reports stamped Q3 2026, not Revolut itself. Where the reports disagree, this page says so rather than picking a number.

⏱️

Round one: the HackerRank screen

About 60 minutes, online: two written SQL questions plus multiple-choice items over user and transaction tables. One report puts it at "two SQL questions and several" multiple choice; an earlier edition of the same guide said 30 minutes, the Q3 2026 reports say 60.

🧑‍💻

Round two: the live session

Four sequential questions on interconnected users, transactions, events and subscriptions tables: monthly active users with completed transactions, the top 10% of users by transaction volume, joins, CTEs, date logic, window functions, cohort and conversion analysis.

🎯

What costs points

Counting transactions where users were asked for, a forgotten status filter (completed, not attempted), WHERE where HAVING belongs, and NULL treated as a value — the candidates name COALESCE by name. The grain first, then the filter, then the number.

Sources: interviewquery, "Revolut Data Analyst Interview Guide 2026", synthesised from 27 candidate reports stamped Q3 2026 (read September 2026). An earlier edition of the same guide gave 30 minutes for the screen; the 2026 reports say 60. Revolut does not publish the format of its rounds; treat every specific above as candidate-reported, and expect it to change.

Practice the screen under the clock: a 60-minute HackerRank-style SQL mock on a synthetic multi-currency neobank ledger — six multiple-choice questions read off real query output, then the two written tasks the reports name first: monthly active users with completed transactions, and the top 10% of users by volume.

Practice Set Composition

What the Revolut practice set actually covers

The 38 challenges tagged Revolut in the SQL Quest bank, with every raw challenge tag resolved to the 9 canonical skills. Each share is the portion of those 38 challenges that exercise the skill — a challenge exercises several, so the shares do not sum to 100%. This is the composition of the practice set on this page, not a measurement of Revolut’s interview.

Practice Questions

Six SQL Quest challenges matched to Revolut’s patterns

These are SQL Quest challenges chosen because their SQL matches the work — Querying Basics, Aggregation & Grouping, Date Functions. They are not questions Revolut has asked, and this page does not claim to know its questions. All of the six play free; each card opens the challenge itself.
